Innovation Challenge
Powered by the Global Innovation Center and MATTER, a leading healthcare technology incubator, the VSP Vision Innovation Challenge is a global competition to source and support solutions enhancing the patient experience in eye care.

The Global Innovation Center ran a pilot with digital health equity startup HUED to validate and measure third-party, innovative Cultural Competency Training as a tool to differentiate and strengthen the provider network.
Following a successful pilot in which 98% of enrolled providers found the training valuable, VSP rolled the course out to a wider provider audience in Q4 2024. By offering best-in-class cultural competency training to network doctors, the pilot advances the objective of growing a diverse and inclusive network of doctors that represents the communities VSP serves.
Leveraging its recent work in the accessibility space, the Global Innovation Center crafted a comprehensive guide to help innovators navigate the world of assistive technologies.
The guide, which contains key insights for the AR-enabled low vision solutions market, is designed to spark conversation, encourage the use of inclusive design principles, and advance understanding of low vision and the emerging assistive device category.
