RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. – Today, VSP Vision™, in partnership with the Kentucky College of Optometry (KYCO), announced Seth Clark as the winner of the $5,000 Vision of Hope scholarship.
“I am so humbled to receive the Vision of Hope scholarship,” said Seth Clark. “It has affirmed that I am choosing the path that God has set for me. As I start my journey into optometry school, I am grateful for the encouragement that this scholarship has brought me. I hope I can keep making my family proud in honor of my late sister and faith in Jesus.”
Each year, this scholarship is awarded to an incoming optometry student at KYCO at the University of Pikeville who is committed to practicing in the Appalachian region to provide care to underserved patient populations.
“It is an honor to work with a partner that shares our commitment to bridging gaps in patient care and improving access to exceptional doctors,” said VSP Vision Chief Provider and Industry Solutions Officer Michelle Skinner. “We congratulate Seth Clark on his accomplishments and look forward to celebrating his future contributions to the optometric profession.”
“At KYCO, we are committed to improving patient access to care in our community, and our students will undoubtedly make a positive impact on vision care in our region,” said Dean at Kentucky College of Optometry, Renee Reeder, O.D., FAAO, FBCLA, FSLS, FIACLE. “We are excited for Seth Clark to start at KYCO, and we look forward to seeing him excel in our optometry program.”
