Eyefinity Earns Three Best-in-Class Security Accreditations

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. – Eyefinity^®, a VSP Vision^™ company and a leader in cloud-based practice management and electronic health records software, has announced it has earned three top-of-the-line security accreditations for their practice management and EHR software—SOC 2 Type 2 recertification, HIPAA Security Risk Assessment, and the Health Network Accreditation Program – Electronic Health Network (HNAP-EHN). 

These accreditations include:

• SOC 2 Type 2 Recertification: Ensures data protection for practices using Eyefinity’s cloud-based software. This certification was first achieved in April 2023. The 2024 recertification covers Eyefinity’s cloud-based practice management software and validates the effectiveness of cybersecurity controls against attacks over time. Currently, Eyefinity is the only eye care software backed by SOC 2 Type 2 certification. To achieve this certification, more than 150 security controls were examined.
• HIPAA Security Risk Assessment (SRA): In early 2024, Eyefinity completed its SRA, ensuring its operations are compliant with HIPAA’s administrative, physical, and technical safeguards for processing and storing electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI). The organization routinely conducts this assessment every 18 months to ensure the lowest possible risk, according to HIPAA regulations.
• Health Network Accreditation Program-Electronic Health Network (HNAP-EHN): The HNAP-EHN accreditation verifies that Eyefinity software meets criteria surrounding security and privacy, disaster recovery practices, system availability, secure data flows of PHI within and beyond the company, and more. Eyefinity first earned the HNAP-EHN accreditation in 2004 and re-accredits every two years. The latest accreditation was awarded to Eyefinity in May 2024.
