Newsroom > Practice Solutions > Premier Edge > Doubling Down on Private Practice Support, VSP Vision Simplifies and Enhances Provider Programs
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. - Today, VSP Vision™ announced it is simplifying and enhancing the VSP™ Premier Edge and Professional Eye Care Associates of America PECAA Max programs to deliver more value and industry-leading support for private practice. The changes, taking effect on January 1, 2026, will streamline and clarify the services offered with each program, making it easier for providers to identify and adopt the programs that best fit their needs.
“Based on doctor feedback, VSP Premier Edge and PECAA Max are evolving to make the experience simpler for practices, while keeping the strengths that matter most to independents,” said VSP Vision Chief Provider and Industry Solutions Officer Michelle Skinner. “We’re in it every step of the way with private practice doctors, which means VSP is doubling down on investments that deliver greater value, support, and stability to private practice optometry.”
New Simplified Structure Coming to VSP Premier Edge • Beginning January 1, 2026, Premier Edge is moving to a single tier structure and simplifying the criteria to participate. Eligibility will include meeting a minimum eyewear purchase amount and offering consumer conveniences like retinal imaging, free fittings and adjustments, and more. • The existing Premier Edge frame rewards program for eligible practices will end after December 31, 2025.
VSP Premier Edge will continue to offer: • VSP Premier Edge banner on the VSP Find a Doctor Directory to help support patient flow to a location where members can maximize their benefits. Practices with the Premier Edge Banner receive an average of 3.7 times more clicks on their directory listing than non-participating practices. • Complimentary marketing support and enhanced training and education offerings. • Access to special offers on products and services from VSP Vision lines of businesses and industry-leading partners. • Opportunity to provide VSP members with unique offerings that can enhance their satisfaction, including the Premier Edge Promise – a worry-free eyewear guarantee that allows members to replace their glasses at no cost to the practice, and Premier Edge offers, which include rebates on contact lenses and savings on glasses and sunglasses.
New & Enhanced Value Coming to PECAA Max • Starting January 1, 2026, a new Marchon and Altair Frame Rebate program will be offered to PECAA Max members. The new program allows earnings based on all Marchon and Altair frame purchases. • Also beginning January 2026, through June 2026, qualifying new and existing PECAA Max members, will receive a rebate for their monthly PECAA Max dues.
PECAA Max will continue to offer: • Access to the VSP Vision Exam Rebate, which is allowing PECAA Max members to receive more for the VSP eye exams they are already performing. • Industry-best vendor savings and rebates with unique discounts and rebates from more than 200 vendor partners. • Access to expert business advisors in finance, operations, optical, billing & coding, marketing, and cold start. • Connection with other private practice professionals at the PECAA Annual Meeting, local peer-to-peer events, and engaging online virtual events. • Access to continuing education, staff training, specialty programs, and certification courses to elevate the entire practice team.
“Private practice doctors look to PECAA for resources and tools to build their practices and maximize their profitability,” said PECAA President Jonathan Worrall. “The PECAA team strives every day to deliver on those needs. We are delighted that now, looking to 2026, PECAA Max will include even more support from Marchon, Altair, and VSP Vision to further fuel private practice success.”
These simplifications and enhancements are the latest examples of VSP’s commitment to accelerating support for private practice. In addition to increasing the VSP Vision Exam Rebate, it also announced it would not raise prices on Marchon or Altair products in response to tariff increases through the end of 2025. In May, VSP also announced more than $1 million in debt relief had been provided through the VSP Vision Student Loan Repayment Program, helping alleviate the financial pressures faced by many doctors and optometry students.
