At VSP, we understand the importance of fostering relationships between academia and our business—in fact, we believe these relationships are integral to our overall business success. That's why we invest in a robust summer Internship Program—also known as the VSP Collegiate Talent & Hiring Program—and integrate interns into our enterprise strategy.

About the Program

We embrace diversity and value individuals from all backgrounds—it's how we ensure we're meeting the evolving needs of our members, clients, and doctors. Join us to gain valuable skills, collaborate with a diverse team, and grow both personally and professionally.

Our paid Internship Program offers current college or university students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on challenging, immersive projects that provide real world value-add.

  • When to apply: Intern positions are posted to our Careers page in January
  • Time commitment: 10 weeks, early June through mid-August
  • Employment type: Full-time, contractor
  • Work setting: Most interns work from home (virtual, not in-person) while some are Hybrid (virtual and onsite)
  • Student level: Current college or university students (2nd year to 4th year). Master's degree candidates are also accepted.
  • Expenses we cover:
    • All VSP internships are paid depending on level of knowledge and experience
    • You'll receive company-issued computer equipment and access to a full suite of work tools and resources to help you build your business acumen

Cohort Training Seminars

Our cohort seminars introduce you to a variety of business topics using presentations, panels, discussions, and trainings geared toward advancing your knowledge of our company, industry, work tools, and systems.

Professional Development

You'll be immersed in a variety of education and training activities geared towards enhancing your professional development, so you're prepared to enter the workforce.

Social Hours

Having fun is core to the VSP culture, so you'll be invited to optional social hours that connect our summer interns to each other and provide key networking opportunities.

  • Carefully review the requirements for each internship vacancy and customize your resume to highlight your suitability for the role
  • Once you identify a vacancy of interest, please click on the "Apply" button and proceed with instructions for the application process.
